BEECHER, Ill. — Beecher police are investigating an attempted armed robbery reported Friday evening at Silver Screen Vapes and are asking residents to review security camera footage that may help identify the suspect.

Police say the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 at Silver Screen Vapes, 759 W. Indiana Ave. The suspect is described as a white male armed with a firearm. He fled the scene and remains at large.

Investigators have obtained higher-quality images of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle, described as a small gray SUV. Police believe the vehicle was in Beecher about 20 minutes before the attempted robbery.

According to police, the suspect entered the SUV after the incident and fled north through an alley, then traveled east on Penfield Street and south on Woodward Street.

Police are asking residents to check doorbell and security camera footage for sightings of a small gray SUV between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19.

Authorities confirmed the suspect left the area and continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activity. The suspect is considered armed, and community members should not approach anyone matching the description. Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Aaron DaCorte at [email protected].

Police say additional details will be released as the investigation continues.
