The Beecher Public Library District Board of Trustees on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, voted to secure its seasonal groundskeeping services, awarding two separate contracts for lawn mowing, turf maintenance, and landscaping for the upcoming year.
With the spring season approaching, the board reviewed proposals to maintain the library’s exterior appearance. The primary mowing contract was awarded to Tadpole’s Landscaping. Under the approved agreement, Tadpole’s will mow and trim the library grounds at a rate of $57.50 per visit. Additionally, the contract includes a one-time fee of $495 for the company to trim the bushes and remove all clippings from the property. Trustee Douglas Short made the motion to approve the proposal, which was seconded by Trustee Sheila Oppenhuis and passed 6-0.
For specialized turf care, the board reviewed a contract submitted by Wehling Lawn Care. The proposal covers general lawn maintenance and grub control treatments for a base price of $360.20. However, because the library carried over a $79.00 credit from the previous year, the final cost to the district for the 2026 season will be reduced to $289.90.
Trustee Lance Saller motioned to approve the Wehling Lawn Care contract, with Trustee Powers providing the second. The motion carried unanimously in a 6-0 roll call vote.
