BEECHER, IL – The Beecher Board of Education finalized its fiscal plans for the upcoming year, formally approving the Fiscal Year 2025 amended budget at its May 14 meeting. The approval came after a public hearing where no members of the public offered comment. Superintendent Dr. Jack Gaham presented the budget details to the board before the unanimous vote.

In other business, the board moved to fill several key support positions within the district. Following a motion from Secretary Brandy Flores and a second from member Amanda Hanson, the board unanimously approved the hiring of Dennis Martz as a full-time custodian, Sherry Murray as the Elementary School Crossing Guard, and Melissa Proskurniak as a Junior High School Teacher Aide. However, the board tabled a decision on hiring a new High School Boys Soccer Coach.

The board also looked to the future, accepting an intent to retire notice from Cara Stanula, the District Administrative Assistant. Stanula’s retirement will be effective at the end of Fiscal Year 2028, giving the district ample time to plan for the transition in a critical administrative role.

Additionally, the board unanimously approved the compensation package for classified staff for Fiscal Year 2026, ensuring that contracts and salary structures are in place for the district’s support personnel.
