Article Summary: Beecher’s National Night Out was a resounding success, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd to the new Public Safety Facility for the first time. National Night Out Key Points:

  • The event featured tours every 30 minutes of the new police station, a K-9 demonstration, and face painting.

  • Attendance was high, with organizers serving over 425 hot dogs and 400 ice cream cones.

  • The Beecher Lions Club, fire district, EMA, and several local businesses were key partners in the event’s success.

BEECHER – The new Beecher Public Safety Facility was buzzing with activity on August 5 as hundreds of residents turned out for the annual National Night Out event. The gathering, which also served as an open house for the recently completed building, was hailed as a major success by village officials.

Trustee Joe Tieri, Chair of the Public Safety Committee, gave a glowing report at the August 11 village board meeting, thanking the community for its strong show of support. “The importance of the police-community relationships and citizens involved to help make the village a safer place was shown throughout all the night,” Tieri said.

He noted that the attendance was comparable to previous years when the event was held at the park, with more than 425 hot dogs and 400 ice cream cones served. The Beecher Lions Club was instrumental, not only providing ice cream but also spontaneously offering face painting for children.

Tours of the new facility were a major draw, with groups running every 30 minutes throughout the evening. The event also featured a demonstration by K-9 officer Hernandez and his partner, as well as participation from the Beecher Fire Protection District, EMA, and Public Works. Tieri also thanked local businesses, including Duncan, McDonald’s, and Circle K, for their contributions.
