U.S. House investigating Medicaid for illegal immigrants
A U.S. House committee is launching an investigation into Illinois and other states, seeking, among other things, documents regarding their expansion of taxpayer funded Medicaid for illegal aliens.
The Congressional Budget Office shows taxpayers spent more than $16.2 billion on Medicaid-funded emergency services nationwide for illegal aliens health care.
Senators demand naval station transparency
Illinois U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth say they have requested a meeting with the Secretary of the Navy to demand information about President Donald Trump’s plan to use Naval Station Great Lakes to house Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers.
Durbin wrote in an X post Wednesday that service members and American taxpayers deserve transparency.
Transit concealed carry case decided by appeals court
Plaintiffs in the case challenging the prohibition of licensed concealed carry on mass transit in Illinois say they are reviewing their options after a federal appeals court overturned a lower court’s decision that the law was unconstitutional.
The Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled the law is “well within our nation’s history and tradition of firearm regulation.”
