Village of Beecher Board Meeting | October 27, 2025

The Beecher Village Board weighed in on two major solar farm proposals during its meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025. The board voted to support the large Plum Valley Solar project after securing a $100,000 Community Benefit Agreement for the village. In contrast, trustees declined to offer support for the smaller Black Swan solar project, which did not include a direct financial contribution. In other business, the board approved a $60,255 purchase of new in-car cameras for the police department and hired a new accounting firm, Pasbrig & Associates, for financial oversight.

Sale of Old Police Station Approved
The board approved a resolution authorizing the sale of the property at 724 Penfield Street, the former police station, as surplus public real estate. The motion allows the village to move forward with listing the property for sale with a realtor.

Generator Maintenance Contract Awarded
Trustees approved a proposal from Metro Power to conduct maintenance and load bank testing on six village-owned generators. The contract for the annual service is for $6,250.

Taser Grant Agreement Authorized
The board gave its consensus for the police chief to sign a grant agreement that will provide six new tasers for the department. The grant, totaling $17,926.80, will cover the full cost of the equipment. The formal purchase will come before the board for approval at a later date.

Fall Public Works Schedule Announced
The board announced several key dates for residents. Leaf collection was set to begin the week of the meeting. The final brush collection of the season is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4. The pickleball courts will be closed for the winter starting on Monday, November 3.

Trick-or-Treat Hours Set
Official trick-or-treating hours for the Village of Beecher will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 31.

President Meyer Donates Prize to Beecher Blessing
It was announced that President Marcy Meyer recently won a $250 gift card door prize at an open house for Lauer, a local business. She donated the full amount to Beecher Blessing, a local organization that assists families in need.

Bills Approved
The board approved the payment of bills and payroll totaling $156,768.14.
