Beecher Awards Over $12,000 for Asphalt Patching

The Village of Beecher will move forward with road repairs after the Village Board on Monday, November 10, 2025, approved a contract for asphalt patching. The board unanimously accepted a proposal from Wirkus Paving Co. to complete the work for $12,614.40.

The motion to accept the proposal was made by Trustee Erik Gardner, chair of the Public Works Committee. “I’d like to consider a motion accepting a proposal from Wirkus Paving to complete the asphalt patching at various locations in Beecher in the amount of $12,614.40,” Gardner stated during the meeting.

According to the proposal dated October 28, 2025, the project covers 876 square feet of 4-inch asphalt patching at a rate of $14.40 per square foot. Public Works staff identified the various locations in need of repair.

Before the vote, Gardner also publicly thanked the public works department for their efficient work during the morning’s snowfall. “You guys did a great job this morning with the snow. I know you were short-handed a little bit, but everything turned out good with that,” he said.
