Village of Beecher Meeting | November 10, 2025

The Beecher Village Board on Monday, November 10, 2025, took several key actions, including the establishment of a new financial assistance program for local businesses, the passage of new regulations for electric scooters and e-bikes, and the approval of a contract for road repairs.

The board unanimously adopted a resolution creating the Village of Beecher Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Small Business Assistance Program, which will offer up to $10,000 in reimbursements for property improvements. In separate actions, trustees passed two new ordinances to regulate the use of low-speed electric scooters and e-bikes on village streets, citing public safety concerns. Tribute to Historic Preservation Member Arie Cooper:
The board recognized the passing of Arie Cooper, described by Trustee Erik Gardner as a “longtime preservation member and historical society member.” Gardner noted Cooper’s vast knowledge of the town’s history. Holiday Celebration Plans Finalized:
The village’s Holiday Celebration, Parade of Lights, and Tree Lighting in Firemen’s Park is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature Santa, food, snacks, and arts and crafts for children. Parade lineup begins at 4:30 p.m.

Bills Approved, Finances Stable:
The board approved the Treasurer’s Report for October. The combined month-end balance for all village and commission accounts was $6,147,502.27, with the general fund balance at $2,004,470.32. The board also authorized the payment of bills and payroll totaling $111,097.

Youth Commission Announces Skating Event:
A roller-skating event for junior high students is scheduled for Friday, November 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Permission slips and a $5 fee are due by November 14.

Parade to Honor Karate Team:
EMA Director Bob Heim announced that a parade for the Pack Karate team will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m. The parade will celebrate 10 local competitors who recently returned from a tournament in Germany. Heim advised residents to expect sirens and horn honking during the event.

Banking Resolutions Passed:
The board unanimously approved Resolution 2025-06 and Resolution 2025-07, which formalize the village’s banking relationship with First Community Bank and Trust for general village accounts and separate police department accounts.
