Resident Patience: Officials asked for patience as crews work to catch up on all routes.
BEECHER, Ill. – The Beecher Village Board on Monday, November 24, 2025, announced that leaf collection services will be extended to accommodate delays caused by inclement weather.
Public Works Committee Chair Erik Gardner confirmed that collection efforts will continue through the second week of December, with the possibility of extending into the third week if necessary.
“I’d ask everybody at home to please be patient,” Gardner said. “It’s been kind of a rough process this year with the weather, the snow, and then the rain.”
Gardner noted that the department faces logistical challenges as they attempt to balance leaf pick-up with the need to prepare for winter storms. “It sounds like we’re going to have to switch back over to snow again this weekend,” Gardner said.
Despite the delays, officials assured residents that all leaves placed out for collection would eventually be picked up.
