BEECHER, Ill. – The holiday season in Beecher will officially kick off this weekend following announcements made by the Village Board on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Trustee Brian Diachenko provided the schedule for the annual “Parade of Lights” and tree lighting ceremony. The event is set for Sunday, November 30. Parade participants will line up at 4:30 p.m., with the procession beginning at 5:00 p.m. The community tree lighting and celebration will follow immediately after the parade at Firemen’s Park.
Additionally, the village is bringing back its popular Holiday Lights Decorating Contest.
“We had a lot of entries last year… and they were really, really good. So, they set the bar high,” Diachenko said.
Judges will view registered homes after 5:00 p.m. on either Saturday, December 6, or Sunday, December 7. The winners are scheduled to be announced on Monday, December 8. Residents interested in participating can register their addresses at Village Hall.
The board also noted that a coat giveaway will be hosted by Peace Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., utilizing the north entrance of the building. Organizers reportedly have a large supply of adult and children’s coats available for those in need.
