The Beecher Fire Protection District Board of Trustees met on Thursday, October 23, 2025, to review departmental reports regarding staffing levels, equipment acquisition, and financial planning for the upcoming year.

During the committee reports, the Personnel Committee provided a significant update regarding the district’s workforce. The committee reported that the department has hired five new candidates, effectively filling the contract.

Financial planning for the coming year was also on the agenda. Under new business, the board addressed the 2025 Tax Levy Determination. The minutes indicate the tax levy determination is set with a cap under 5%.

Deputy Chief Mike Heusing provided updates on district equipment and training metrics. He reported that the department’s new brush truck is currently scheduled for delivery in January or February. Heusing also highlighted the department’s ongoing commitment to preparation, noting that total firefighter training hours have reached 9,204.5.

In other administrative updates, Fire Chief Joe Falaschetti reported on several operational improvements, including updates on a VPN connection to the fire alarm board at Lincoln Land Community College (LCC) and the “Learn Not to Burn” program.
