Illinois in Focus: SCOTUS to release order list; U.S. Steel returns; Candidate quests for answers
(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Editor Greg Bishop shares reaction from Illinois state Rep. Amy Elik, R-Alton, about the announcement that U.S. Steel is restarting a blast furnace in Granite City.
Bishop also airs comments from Illinois Statehouse candidate Baily Templeton about her latest round of public records she obtained showing the number of children in the state without Social Security Numbers getting taxpayer subsidies.
Finally, Bishop takes a moment during the live show to pull up the U.S. Supreme Court order list, showing the nation’s high court not announcing whether they’ll take a case challenging Illinois’ and Cook County’s ban on semi-automatic firearms and magazines over certain capacities. Separate cases linger in lower courts.
