The Beecher Fire Protection District Board of Trustees on Thursday, November 20, 2025, moved forward with its financial planning for the coming year, approving the annual tax levy and modernizing administrative capabilities.
During the meeting at the fire station on Penfield Street, the board voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 1120-25B, the 2025 Tax Levy. In a related financial measure, the trustees also passed Ordinance 1120-25C, which handles the 2025 Tax Abatement.
The board also addressed physical maintenance of the district’s facilities. Representatives from R.C. Wegman gave a presentation regarding issues with the fire station roof. Following the presentation and discussion, Trustee Dave Kolosh made a motion to grant Fire Chief Joe Falaschetti the authority to approve a decision on the roof repair with R.C. Wegman. The motion was seconded by Trustee Bruce Becker and passed with a unanimous roll call vote.
In an effort to modernize operations, the board held a public hearing regarding the acceptance of credit and debit card payments. With no comments from the general public, the hearing was closed, and the board subsequently approved Ordinance 1120-25A. This new regulation formally allows the district to accept payments via credit and debit cards.
The meeting was attended by Trustees Bruce Becker, Margie Cook, Dave Kolosh, Lyle Siefker, and Mike Waterman. Also present were Chief Falaschetti, Deputy Chief Mike Heusing, Assistant Chief Tim McGannon, Attorney John Motylinski, and James Howard.
