Meeting Summary and Briefs: Beecher Village Board for December 22, 2025
Beecher Village Board Meeting | December 22, 2025
The Beecher Village Board met on Monday, December 22, 2025, for a regular meeting that featured significant personnel changes and the approval of a solar energy agreement. The board welcomed new Police Chief John Galvin and bid farewell to long-time Village Clerk Janett McCawley. Trustees also unanimously approved a Community Benefit Agreement with Sparrow Property Management, LLC, securing a $100,000 donation for the village.
Residents attended the meeting to voice frustrations regarding noise from commercial trucks, prompting the board to pledge assistance in contacting corporate management. The meeting concluded with the board adjourning to an executive session to discuss personnel matters and review closed session minutes.
Leaf Pickup Resumes
Public Works Committee Chair Trustee Erik Gardner announced that leaf collection has temporarily resumed due to the recent thaw in weather. “The snow is thawed and we have resumed leaf pickup, believe it or not,” Gardner said. Crews will continue to collect leaves until the weather turns bad again.
Financial Reports Approved
The board approved the treasurer’s report and the list of bills. The village’s general fund balance at the end of November stood at $1,813,917.97. Trustee Todd Kraus noted that the approved bills included payroll for the EMA, trustees, and a $21,438 payment for the wastewater treatment plant.
Employment Agreement on Agenda
Following the executive session, the board was scheduled to consider an ordinance authorizing an employment agreement with Donna Lippelt to serve as the Village Treasurer and Office Manager. The ordinance was drafted to consolidate the positions following the retirement of Janett McCawley. (Note: The meeting transcript provided concludes prior to the board returning from executive session to vote on this item).
Board Appointments Updated
The board voted unanimously to approve an updated list of appointments by the Village President. The update was necessary to officially add Police Chief John Galvin to the village’s roster of appointed officials for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2026.
