The Beecher Public Library District is preparing for the winter months by finalizing maintenance contracts and facility inspections, according to action taken at the Tuesday, November 18, 2025, board meeting.
Under “New Business,” the board presented and discussed a snow plow contract from Raul Rodriguez. Trustee Lance Saller made a motion to approve the contract, which was seconded by Trustee Douglas Short and passed by the board.
The move comes after winter weather has already affected library operations. In her report to the board, Director Jill Grosso noted that the library experienced a “snow day” closure on Monday, November 10. Grosso also informed the board that she will call to have the building’s furnaces inspected.
In other building news, the Housekeeping Committee reported that Dorothy will assist with the cleaning crew.
The board also took time to review core library policies. Trustees reviewed the American Library Association (ALA) “Freedom to Read Statement” and the “ALA Bill of Rights.” No formal vote was recorded regarding these policy reviews in the minutes.
