Leaf Erickson Day Change:
As part of the legal updates presented in the policy review, the Board was informed that Leif Erikson Day is no longer a state-recognized holiday for school calendar purposes.
Internet Safety Instruction:
The Board discussed upcoming requirements for internet safety education. Beginning in 2027, instruction on internet safety will be required for grades 3 through 8. Board members discussed the importance of teaching social media responsibility, cyberbullying awareness, and general digital safety at age-appropriate levels, even for platforms that technically require users to be older.
