  • Tax Levies Approved: The board passed Town Levy Ordinance #25-03 and Road & Bridge Levy Ordinance #25-04.

  • Appointment Process: Supervisor Mike Stanula stated the board had a 60-day window to fill the seat and had received multiple inquiries.

The Washington Township Board on Monday, December 1, 2025, returned to full strength with the appointment of a new trustee.

Supervisor Mike Stanula recommended George Obradovich to fill the vacancy on the board. Stanula explained that the board had a 60-day statutory period to fill the position and noted that he had received “many inquiries” from residents regarding the open seat.

According to Stanula, the board sought a candidate who “wanted to serve on the board” and, after interviewing candidates and careful consideration, recommended Obradovich. The board expressed no concerns with the nomination. Trustee Mark Herlitz made the motion to appoint Obradovich, which was seconded by Trustee Paul Goldrick and approved unanimously by voice vote.

Obradovich signed the appointment warrant and is scheduled to meet with Clerk Joe Burgess to take the “Oath of Office” and notify the county.

In addition to the appointment, the board took final action on its financial levies for the upcoming year. The board unanimously approved the 2025 Town Levy Ordinance #25-03 and the 2025 Road & Bridge Levy Ordinance #25-04. Both measures passed with a 4-0 vote, and the minutes noted there was no discussion regarding either levy prior to their adoption.
