The Washington Township Board met on Monday, December 1, 2025, to conduct monthly business, including the approval of tax levies and the appointment of a new trustee. Senior Events Update:
Clerk Joe Burgess reported strong attendance for township senior activities. The Senior Movie Night on November 19 drew 31 attendees. Additionally, 43 people signed up for the “Sounds of the Seasons” concert at Olivet University scheduled for December 5. A Senior Holiday Dinner is set for December 9, featuring a sing-along performance by Beecher High School junior Isa Pina.
Transportation Report:
The Dial-a-Ride service provided 61 trips in November at a cost of $1,674.16. Officials noted that the Pace bus was scheduled to undergo a lift inspection at Tom’s Truck Repair the following day.
Flagpole Upgrades:
Supervisor Stanula has contacted M3 Electric of Beecher to install two new light fixtures for the township flagpoles. The project involves installing one new flagpole and replacing the existing fixture on another to ensure they match and provide the same amount of light.
Bills Paid:
The board authorized the payment of bills for the month of November. The Road & Bridge District paid out a total of $38,070.72, while the Town Account (including the Transportation Fund) had disbursements totaling $21,870.45. There were no General Assistance payouts recorded for November.
