Beecher Board of Education Meeting | February 11, 2026

The Beecher Board of Education met on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to review academic data and approve several operational contracts. The meeting featured detailed reports from building principals regarding the latest Illinois State Report Card data, which showed strong English Language Arts performance district-wide. The Board also moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters before returning to vote on staffing and contracts.

Personnel Hires:
The Board approved the employment of Sebastiane Salazar as the High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach. Additionally, Cassidy Sinwelski was hired as the grades 3-5 Cross-Categorical Teacher at Beecher Elementary School for Fiscal Year 2027.

Copier Lease Renewal:
The Board voted to renew the district’s lease with Xerox for copiers and printers. The new agreement costs $1,752.00 per month for Fiscal Year 2027. The renewal includes new machines that are priced lower than the district’s previous contract.

County Mutual Aid Resolution:
The Board adopted the “Will County Will Be Ready” resolution. Superintendent Dr. Jack Gaham described the measure as a formalization of a “one for all and all for one” mutual aid agreement among Will County entities to support one another during emergencies.

Scholarship Increase:
During committee updates, it was announced that the Scholarship Association has increased the award amount for vocational and two-year program scholarships from $500 to $750. The scholarship for four-year programs remains at $1,500. Applications are due by April 3.

Building Lighting:
In a discussion regarding facility maintenance, the Board reviewed plans to improve exterior lighting at the district office. Rather than replacing a damaged pole, the district plans to install LED wall packs on the building to illuminate the parking lot and side areas, a solution described as more cost-effective.
