The Beecher Public Library District Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. for its regular monthly meeting. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call showing all trustees present except for Trustee Powers. Director Grosso and accountant Squier were also in attendance.
Briefs:
Weather Closure Policy
The Schools Committee reminded the Board and the public that the library aligns its weather-related closures with the local schools. Whenever the Beecher School District closes due to inclement weather—including extreme cold—the library will also be closed.
‘Noon Year’s Eve’ Success
Director Grosso reported a successful turnout for the library’s recent holiday event. The “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration was attended by 30 children.
Per Capita Grant Review
The Board reviewed the Illinois Public Library standards required for the Public Library Per Capita Grant. Trustees noted that the library is currently “doing well in many areas” regarding the state standards.
Snow Removal Update
The Building and Grounds Committee, led by Trustees Lance Saller and Rick Kerber, reported that snow removal operations at the library have been going well so far this winter.
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m. following a motion by Trustee Saller, which was seconded by Trustee Keppler-Abbott. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
