Deputy Chief Mike Heusing presented his report to the board, noting that firefighters have logged a total of 1,330 training hours. Heusing also provided trustees with updates on ongoing vehicle and equipment maintenance, as well as an education and candidates update.

Fire Chief Joe Falaschetti utilized his report to brief the board on several ongoing community safety and administrative initiatives. According to the meeting minutes, Falaschetti discussed recent fire alarm reviews conducted for the Peace Luther Campuses. He also highlighted active concerns regarding the intersection and corridors of County Line Road and Dixie Highway.

Additionally, Falaschetti updated the board on developments with The Preserves at Cardinal Creek Homeowners Association, CPR training with the Village of Beecher, and coordination with Franciscan Olympia Fields and MABAS 27. On the administrative front, the Chief discussed the district’s grant status, Will County Community Mental Health, the station roof, SCBA equipment, and uniforms.

Assistant Fire Chief Tim McGannon rounded out the administrative updates, reporting on the department’s internal mental health program and conducting community support follow-ups.
