BEECHER — The Beecher Community Unit School District 200-U Board of Education on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, approved a round of personnel actions as part of its end-of-year business.

The board approved a maintenance director contract for Nathan Stanula, who oversees the district’s facilities and has been coordinating summer building projects. The contract’s salary and term were not read into the record at the meeting. Members also approved the employment of Nikole Stewart-Surprenant as a fourth-grade cross-categorical aide at Beecher Elementary School.

In a single motion, the board acknowledged four resignations: Sherry Murray as a school crossing guard, Dawn Compton as girls soccer assistant coach, Jonathan Kypuros as girls soccer head coach, and Megan Davis and Lynette Naylor as Beecher Elementary student council co-sponsors.

The board also accepted a notice of intent to retire from district bookkeeper Katie Gersch, effective July 2027. The board chair drew a laugh in noting the item was, in effect, a formality. “In all seriousness, you can’t say no there. If you say no, it fails,” she said before the unanimous vote.

All personnel items passed unanimously among the six members present. Board member Adriana Diachenko was absent.
