Joseph Perry House Granted Historic Landmark Status

Spread the love

The committee unanimously approved a resolution (26-4451) designating the Joseph Perry House as a Will County Historic Landmark. Located at 365 W. Exchange Street in Crete Township (PIN # 23-15-09-318-016-0000), the property was originally built circa 1854 by Dr. Joseph Perry and later extensively remodeled in the Queen Anne architectural style in the 1890s by his son, Joseph Ferris Perry.

The Will County Historic Preservation Commission previously held a public hearing on April 1, 2026, where they strongly recommended the landmark designation, citing the home’s high level of architectural integrity and its preservation of distinguishing late-19th-century Queen Anne characteristics. The designation now awaits final approval from the full Will County Board.
