Beecher Cruises to 7-1 Victory Over Lincoln-Way Central

BEECHER, IL – The Beecher varsity softball team bounced back from their extra-innings battle the previous day with a decisive 7-1 win over Lincoln-Way Central on Tuesday.

Beecher’s offense provided consistent run support, scoring in three of their six trips to the plate and pulling away with a four-run rally in the sixth inning. M. Johnson led the charge for the Bobcats, turning in a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, including a double, three runs scored, and three RBIs.

The Bobcats’ defense was equally impressive, playing a clean game without committing a single error. That defensive stability provided plenty of cushion for Taylor Norkus, who earned her second win in as many days. Norkus dominated the circle, limiting the Lincoln-Way Central lineup to just three hits and one run while striking out 10 batters across seven innings of work.

Lincoln-Way Central’s lone run came in the top of the sixth, but the Beecher offense responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning to put the game out of reach.
