BEECHER, IL – The Beecher varsity baseball team erased a deficit in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, exploding for nine runs in the sixth inning to secure an 11-6 conference victory over Momence.

Trailing 6-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Bobcats’ offense caught fire. Capitalizing on a series of hits and disciplined plate appearances, Beecher batted through the lineup to turn the four-run deficit into a commanding five-run lead. The decisive rally was bolstered by the team’s ability to find gaps in the defense, totaling 13 hits on the afternoon.

Chase Maher spearheaded the offensive charge, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Tyler Doran also played a key role, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs and drawing a pair of walks, while Nicholas Fox and Chasten Clegg each chipped in with a double and two RBIs apiece.

While the bats provided the late-game fireworks, Easton Lane was pivotal in keeping the Bobcats within striking distance on the mound. Entering in the third inning, Lane provided 4.2 innings of steady relief, allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out nine Momence hitters to earn the win.

Momence had jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the third inning, but Beecher’s bullpen and a resurgent offensive effort turned the momentum, handing the Bobcats a resilient conference victory.
